Lawson Neel MedBank, Inc. opened in 2002 after one year of grassroots efforts by the medical & non-profit community of Thomas County. Our organization does one thing: helps the uninsured & underinsured get the maintenance medicines they need to live a healthier life. Our goal is to make the process as simple for your office as possible. We will work with you to find the right avenue to assist your patients.

We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization. We are supported by grants from local foundations; and donations from churches and individuals. We do not charge a fee for our services.

• Goodrx.com and RxSaver.com are websites that compare drug prices at local drug stores & offer coupons which can result in great savings.
• Rxoutreach.org is a website where medications can be purchased in 3 or 6 month supplies for much less than the cost at the drug store.
• Goodpill.org is a non-profit pharmacy located in Georgia that provides medications to Georgia residents for $6 ($24 for some). Medications are subject to availability.
• Publix offers free lisinopril, metformin, amlodipine, as well as some oral antibiotics. They also have their Next Best Thing to Free program that offers many commonly prescribed medications for $7.50 for a 90-day supply.
• Wal-Mart has a $4 medication plan and offers some of the same free medicines as Publix.

There are two ways you can get your patients in touch with us: 

1. We can provide cards that you may give to patients to have them call us, or
2. You may send us a referral.

After we receive the patient’s current medication list, we will check to see what medicines are available. If the medicine is not available through a free patient assistant program, we look for the least expensive source for purchase.

MedBank will mail the applications to the provider for signature. We will provide individualized cover sheets for each medication. These sheets will tell you exactly what to do for each medicine. Normally, the provider will sign the application and confirm or attach a prescription. Then you will mail the completed application back to us, and we will send it to the drug company.

Once a patient is approved on the program, the medication will be delivered to their home or your office, depending on the individual drug company guidelines. The patient needs to call us to let us know they have received their medication. We will handle all of the refills.

Once you have a patient enrolled in MedBank, it is easy to discontinue or change dosages of established medications, as well as refer new medications. 

To start the process, we will need the providers’ DEA & State license numbers with expiration dates and NPI numbers. You can fax or email those to Lisa, or call her to get the process started and have any questions answered.

• We will assist clients in applying for the Low Income Subsidy (LIS) that will cover payment on Medicare-D premiums and provide a low copay on medications.
• We will refer clients to programs that will screen for all Medicaid benefits, food stamps, and any other state-funded programs.
• We refer clients to a low-cost eye glasses program once they have gotten a prescription for glasses.
